Spring is really in the air here at Three Sisters. We are getting bright and cheeful new things in daily. We now have the popular headbands that are all the rage- made by a local lady:) Only $8 each and there are tons of fabrics to choose from! Also just in are wrap bracelets...so much fun to add one to a simple t shirt and jeans. Along those same lines, we got more infinity scarves in...again, just add one to a solid colored t shirt and jeans and you are ready to go! Also, if you need a winter pick me up, come check out our Easter decor- so fun and bright and cheerful!! Have a great day!

Good Morning from Three Sisters! Yes, it seems a little early, but Valentine's Day is just around the corner! We have such fun little decor items to add to your home without spending alot as well as great gifts for those special people in your life! Let the Festivities Begin!! I bet your calendar is full of get togethers with family and friends on evenings and weekends for the next several weeks. Well the holiday preparations are definitely under way! Of course your time is precious always, but especially this time of year. Let us help by checking lots off your "to do list" all with one stop at our store! We have fresh cut locally grown Christmas trees, wreaths and roping on our patio. Inside we have great furniture and decor to get your home ready for holiday entertaining, food items in our pantry to entertain with (dips, snack mixes, etc...) or easy suppers during the week (crockpot suppers, soup and bread mixes, etc...), and UNIQUE gift items for almost anybody on your list. We also offer custom made gift baskets (upon order), and for employers, we can prepare gifts for your office- wrapped and ready to give! Another great option is a Three Sisters Gift Certificate for those hard to shop for people. So come on out and cross several things off your list at once! We are open 7 days week during December and the cider is on each weekend!

Home for the Holidays 2011!!

We have been working hard to get ready for one of our favorite weekends here at Three Sisters: "Home for the Holidays". This is an annual event of New London Merchants to officially kick off the holiday season. It takes place Friday and Sat. Nov 11 and 12 this year (so starts tomorrow). Our hours are 9-5:30 Friday and 9-5 Saturday. Join us at Three Sisters for 10% off Storewide, in store specials, refreshments from our pantry, view the new artist display in our art corner (unique home decor and jewelry), and don't forget the fall clearance corner with many beautiful things remaining. We have several new furniture pieces on display with new stain options and styles, tons of new holiday decor and great new unique gift items for those hard to shop for people on your list (including a men's corner).
There are other fun things going on as well...Back by popular demand- Amish made pies for your Thanksgiving feast. 5 flavors to choose from. Order by Sat Nov. 19 and pick them up between noon-6pm the day before Thanksgiving. Let us take some work out of your Thanksgiving preparations! As long as we are talking about Thanksgiving, don't forget to pick up one of the many great hostess gifts we carry. Let the cook know you appreciate them!
Starting the day after Thanksgiving, we will have freshly cut MN grown Christmas trees available on our patio, as well as wreaths, roping and spruce tips.
Also starting Thanksgiving weekend, for your holiday shopping convenience, we will be open Sundays from 11-3 thru Christmas.
Also back again this year, we will offer custom made gift baskets available for holiday gifts. Give us a dollar amount and we can make up beautiful baskets for you- maybe pick a theme, for example, wine lover, sweet tooth, comfort food, or whatever fits the person you are giving it to!
Employers...have an office of employees you need to get gifts for? We can help! Again, tell us a dollar amount you want to spend and we can prepare the gifts for you...ready to give (wrapped or gift bagged).
Lastly, we are excited because you may have noticed, we have a new digital sign outside our store, our website is being improved as we speak, AND we are building on!! We are adding a furniture showroom to the back of our store and the front will remain decor and gifts and more of it come spring 2012!

Good Morning! End of October and 50 degrees and sunny today...not too shabby. But as we all know, we have to savor every moment of these days because before we know it, that "W" word will be here...and it will be here for a LONG time (not to be depressing or anything). So it's a NECESSITY to have warm clothes, like hats and mittens, for our MN winters, but the good news is they can be SUPER CUTE too-like a fashion piece. We have looked for just the right companies to carry at our store that will provide us with warm winter accessory pieces that are both functional and fashionable...what we came home with first is San Diego Hat, which we've sold almost 200 of in the past 18 months, and JUST IN ON MONDAY...we added Pistil to our hat and mitten selection. Check out their website at www.pistildesigns.com, they are absolutely wonderful...woolen with fleece interiors and great colors. My favorite is called the "sprout" it's a ladies knit hat with tiny flowers embroidered up it a few inches, like they are "sprouting" out of the hat...
So as you dust off that winter coat from the closet or maybe you got a new one this year, be thinking about what color hat and mittens you'd like to add to it. If you want some quality and unique choices, come check us out!

fun fall decor

hello! I have been slacking- my last post was on Sept 20th. Well, lots of new merchandise has arrived since then, including some large indoor/outdoor clocks, premade fall bouquets that you can just "plop" in a vase, San Diego Hats, new kids wall art and more. Also, Fall Festival came and went and was a fun and busy weekend. September Custom Furniture Sale just wrapped up and was also a success.
The item I want to feature today because we just got a great new display and lots more choices of them in, is called "Gel Gems". They are holiday and every day themed "jelly like" adhesives for windows or mirrors or hurricanes or wherever you can find they will stick. They do not leave any marks or residue (that doesn't wipe right off) and the kids love them! Mine are constantly rearranging the fall leaves we have on our patio door right now. Also, a cute decorating idea is to stick them around a large hurricane and use it as a centerpiece in the middle of a Thanksgiving table, for example. They are cute in the corners of bathroom mirrors too. Just a little whimsy to put a smile on your face as you go about your day! Enjoy the weather!

"Fall Festival" This Coming Weekend!

Hello! Just want to remind everybody of the exciting weekend coming up at Three Sisters and other New London merchants..."Fall Festival"!. It takes place this Fri Sept 23 and Sat Sept 24th. Here at Three Sisters we have exciting things planned, including 10% off storewide (yes, including in store furniture pieces), yummy food samples (coffee and comfort foods from our pantry), an artist reception on Saturday from noon-5pm featuring Diane Schmiesing and her beautiful pastel paintings inspired by her trips to Africa and Rome. Hello and Happy Monday! I have been a slacker on here, but I have a good excuse: our 2nd anniversary weekend, going to market and buying lots of FUN NEW stuff for the store, and also transitioning the store to fall! So I feel it is all good excuses:) And what it means for our customers is there are great end of summer sales going on including 30% OFF PATIO (adirondack chairs and garden decor) and 50% off select indoor decor and gifts!!! Also, we have lots of great NEW FALL and everyday items to check out! The cooler weather the past week as we were taking out all the fall decor was very appropriate. Oh yeah, and another exciting event here at Three Sisters: our new electronic digital sign outside!! We waited a long time, but it is finally here- and I think we figured out how to run it now:) Before I sign off, I just want to thank you, our great customers, once again for making our 2nd anniversary weekend, as well as the last 2 years in general a success! 2 Years in Business!

Good Morning! On July 17th, 2009, we opened the doors of Three Sisters Furnishings. I'm sure you can do the math, but we just passed our 2nd year of being in business. To celebrate, we are having an ANNIVERSARY SALE on Sat. August 13th all day (9a-5p). We will offer complimentary refreshments as well as 10% OFF STOREWIDE and 20% OFF PATIO. Happy Monday! I think fun was had by all the New London Waterdays Celebration this past weekend. Our store went in and joined Main Street for the sidewalk sale on Friday, which was hot, but a good day. Saturday morning, the weather cleared up just in time for the parade which we also took part in. Now back to "real work" at the store today...lots of ordering taking place, so check back soon as the boxes of new stuff start rolling in. Also of note is the beautiful new dining room set dad picked up from the Amish. It is 1/4 sawn white oak with an English Chestnut stain to match the buffet we already had in here. It's a beautiful set that will last a lifetime. Keep enjoying summer everyone!!

A rainy day...normally I'd be bummed, but when you own a store in a summer tourist area, it's a great blessing!! Come in and check out all that's new since you can't be on the lake or golf course! New since I last wrote, are 2 lines of beautiful wooden chidren's and adult decor with beautiful sayings. My favorite is this simple phrase (in fact I had to buy 1 for myself as we were unpacking them:) ) "BE YOUR BEAUTIFUL SELF". Isn't that great?? As if the saying isn't good enough, mine is this beautiful green colored peice of wood with the saying in simple blocked letters- love it. It's going to be one of my new momisms to my kiddos as they grow and doubt themselves or feel picked on, etc... Sorry, didn't mean to get deep on you... Other sayings are "Love You To The Moon and Back" or "Live in the Sunshine, Swim in the Sea, Drink in the Wild Air" -Ralph Waldo Emerson on large wooden wall picture frames. There are also children's cork boards in beautiful boy and girl colors (girls have sparkleys and butterflie and cupcakes of course) for children's room decor. I'm not explaining them very well, but just come out here and check them out for yourself- it will be worth the trip!! And have a wonderful rainy day.

Happy 4th weekend everybody! My favorite holiday of the whole year!
Just have to tell you about the box that arrived today: absolutely gorgeous blue and chocolate brown pottery pieces from one of our favorite (and fairly local) companies, Sullivans, out of Sioux Falls. I am telling you, the colors and quality of these pieces are amazing. I am thinking one of each needs to come home with me (my hubby says it's not very cost effective for me to work at a home decor store)!! They would work great as a centerpiece on a table or the smaller pieces as accents on a shelf. Love them.
In other news, come Monday July 4 at 10 am, we will try this parade thing again. Look for us (#62) in the Spicer Parade. We loaded up on candy coupons this time!! It should be a fun day. Happy 4th everybody!! Enjoy some sunshine with the ones you love!!

New candle scents are in!!

Since it feels like fall outside, it's the perfect time to light a candle in your house. Actually, I light them year round, but thought I should just complain about the weather somehow. I got to the store this morning and noticed the beautiful new candles on our BeanPod candle display. Some of the new scents include Key Lime Pie, Aloe Vera, Cucumber Watermelon, Yellow Hibiscus, Banana Cream Pie, and more. The best part is these candles are soy based, so they burn clean, and they are made in our neighboring state, Iowa! I may be a little biased, but BeanPod candles beat out Yankee in my book, hands down. I don't get the soot like I did with Yankee candles. And the burn times are incredible! I find myself wanting mine at home to burn down faster so I can try a new scent! Come in and check them out!

Hello Friends! Well, we made it through our first parade- and learned things for next time! Mainly, BRING MORE CANDY THAN YOU CAN EVER IMAGINE GOING THROUGH! At the end the poor kids would wave at us, and all they'd get is a wave and a smile back:) Our next parade appearance as mentioned in earlier post will be the 4th of July Parade in Spicer. Enough candy and even coupons will be handed out at that one, so don't miss it!
Now for a little product review: Mu Kitchen linens. They are awesome! We went with all microfiber (rather than cotton) dishclothes and towels and couldn't be happier! Our customers have liked them too- this is a reorder after first ones flew off the shelf. We have them in beautiful bright solids and a few florals to match. My favorite feature of these are that the dishclothes have a built in scrubber/scraper patch- you know for that nasty crusted on food?. That way you don't have to have an unsightly, germ-filled scraper sitting near your sink. But if you do prefer the seperate scraper, Mu offers a cutely patterned one with an abrasive side and an absorbent side. Also, we bought their hot pads and hot mitts and 3 pc microfiber specialty cleaning set, for your glass, stainless steel and surfaces- all are meant to be used with only water-no harsh chemicals! Linens make wonderful gifts as well- weddings, showers, birthdays, etc... Come in and check them out!

Summer parades, here we come!

Happy Monday everybody! This store has offered lots of opportunities for "firsts" for our family... and this week is no different:) We will be in our first parade for the store- Wednesday June 15th at 7pm in the Paynesville Town and Country Parade. Come and enjoy the parade and hopefully nice weather. We will have candy! Other parades we will do this summer include the Spicer July 4th parade (10am), New London Waterdays parade on Sat. July 23rd at 11am and Litchfield Watercade parade on Sat. July 9th at 6pm. Hope to see you at a few of them!

We are getting with the times and starting a blogspot for our store...bear with us as we figure out what we are doing:) You never know who might be updating this- Rog, Judy, Tracy, Katie or Jack.
Graduation is over- it's time for summer to officially begin everybody!!! We have the store and patio stocked full of fun patio chairs and decor, pantry items, gift items, lightweight scarves and jewelry to update your summer wardrobe, childrens decor and gifts and of course Amish furniture and decor for your home. Did you know that about 90% of our furniture sales here are custom orders?? Those Amish guys are super gifted at what they do and can make you about anything your little heart desires...you pick the stain, style, wood type, etc... so that it is exactly what you are looking for.
Mom and I went to market yesterday and ordered a great new line of childrens decor-get ready for unique, colorful, and sometimes glittery for your little girl or guys' room!
